Hello,
Aura PCIe-based flash storage reserves 7% of the overall capacity as free space. With this allocated free space, Aura SSDs can perform these normal maintenance tasks making your drive more stable, dependable, and ultimately a safer place to store your data.
We have several 'older tower' Mac Pro under 10.7.5 and new ones 'late 2013' under 10.9.5 (up to now) with one attached to a 'Thunderbay 4' unit with 3 disks in Apple RAID 1 for daily user's job backup (so no system boot on RAID 1 volume). Blogo 2 3 1 download free.

To do the backup we use Tri-Backup software for 'evolutive' and 'incremental partial' daily backup. Tri-Backup is launched from one dedicated Mac Pro under 10.9.5 to backup all shared user's job folder of all Mac Pro over the network on the Thunderbay.
Today this combination Thunderbay/Apple RAID 1 configuration works without problems, but i start to investigate a solution for the next step since i know that Apple has started to removed easy RAID volume management from Disk Utility in 10.11. The system version that will be probably our next production system for our MacPro fleet in 1 year.
I have notice that if i wait a little … the next SoftRAID 9.x release will reintroduce the option to convert the current 'Apple RAID volume' to a 'SoftRAID volume' (i do not remember if i have done our Apple RAID 1 volume from 10.7.5 or 10.9.5 … does it change something ? and is there a way to check this ?)
Does a 'SoftRAID 9.x volume' shared over the network from the Mac that use 'SoftRAID driver' is seen and can be use (through the network) by other Mac under 10.7.5 up to 10.11.x that do not have 'SoftRAID' installed on it ?
In addition, can you tell me if an external 'SoftRAID 9.x volume' is at least natively mounted if connected to a Mac Pro under 10.9.5 up to 10.11.x that do not have SoftRAID software installed on it ? (to have a quick access on files in case of crash of our main Mac Pro used for the backup).
Thanks for your feed back.
